Nurture in Nature – retreat in France
21st - 27th May 2027
La Roane is a peaceful 20-acre woodland retreat in the southwest of France, nestled just outside the medieval village of Saint Antonin-Noble-Val. Surrounded by oak forests, birdsong and butterflies; it’s a sanctuary designed for slowing down, reconnecting, and feeling deeply nourished.
This is a place for NATURE lovers. You’ll find deer, wildflowers, singing frogs, and over 40 species of butterflies. Wander the forest paths, explore two lovingly built labyrinths or visit the spectacular cave once used by Resistance fighters - with panoramic views of the Gorges de l’Aveyron.
YOGA & WELLNESS
A beautifully restored barn with high ceilings and exposed beams provides the setting for our indoor classes. Outside, the open-air yoga studio surrounded by trees provides an equally special place to be & move & feel.
I will lead classes that encourage a questioning; what is going on, inside and out. This noticing, an acceptance with KINDNESS, allows a safe exploration of our bodies and our minds. If we are gentle with ourselves and listen, we can identify areas that need our attention and start to let go, developing movements that are helpful. Once we have an awareness, we can soften and this allows for fluidity and flow and space. Then we can experiment with building strength and resilience and increasing flexibility. We will explore different types of yoga & movement. We will play & have FUN. There will be mindfulness, meditation & yoga nidra.
& depending on people’s interests we can discuss & investigate various topics intrinsic to holistic wellness.
This is your retreat & I can tailor it to your needs.
You are invited to do as much or as little as you like. There will be a relatively dynamic morning practice, immediately followed by a slower paced class. You can join in for both or just come to the second part. We will finish in a guided meditation.
The afternoon session will depend upon the daytime activity & will be some kind of slow, gentle, mindful class; followed by a longer relaxation.
This is about giving yourself SPACE, in mind and body; building strength and functional range of movement. It is about accepting your body’s limits and working with kindness so that progression is steady and safe and useful. This is about working with the body’s nervous system responses and finding an easy path back to relaxation.
Need a moment of stillness? Meditate in a hammock, read by the pool, or relax in the sauna. You’ll also find a table tennis table, bicycles to borrow, and a cozy library for quiet time, complete with tea and music.
Need some action? The walk to the medieval village of St Antonin is around an hour. Where the - not to be missed - Sunday market will be on the itinerary.
& for those of you who fancy a bit of water action; kayaking or even a swim in the Aveyron river…

The nearest airport is Toulouse. The nearest train station is Caussade. I have heard that Toulouse is a stunning city, so I was thinking you could have a couple of nights in Toulouse before getting the train down to Caussade. It is also possible to be collected from Toulouse airport & head straight to the retreat centre.
