6th - 20th January 2028
A land of waterfalls, magnificent rivers & secret swimming pools. A land of volcanoes, hot springs & stunningly beautiful beaches. This incredible country, which took the decision to disband its army & invest instead in national parks, has a rich, varied biodiversity. It celebrates the wild – making it the perfect destination for a Wildyogis retreat.
This time Jo from Wildyogis has teamed up with Drew from NAVINA to offer you a Costa Rican adventure which will fill your soul, nurture your mind & heal your body.
The first part of this nature inspired extravaganza will lead us North to explore the volcanic region of Arenal and then on to the Rincon de la Vieja volcano as well. Along the way we’ll stop at nature reserves, hot springs (and a hot river), explore incredible caves (if you’re into that), visit the most turquoise river you’ve ever seen, go tubing down some amazing rapids and search for waterfalls. Making our way down the pacific coast, there will be plenty of time to stop & enjoy the unspoilt beaches, fringed with jungle.
Accommodation, breakfast and transportation is included for all hotels during part one.
The second part of your retreat finds you totally immersed in nature, at the enchanted centre that Drew has created: NAVINA.
Here the giant blue morph butterflies gently float past. Howler monkeys welcome every sunrise & the sunsets fuel your sense of awe. Brightly coloured toucans call from overhead branches, scarlet macaws come to feed on cashews & the whizz of the hummingbirds’ wings are a constant background delight. You may even spot tiny, endangered squirrel monkeys, who pass by the centre most days.
We will be practicing daily mindful movement on the yoga platform - possibly Jo’s favourite place to do yoga in the world. Raised up high, you look out over the jungle canopy. Here, the magic of nature sets the tone for a pretty special yoga practice. A practice that is all about moving in a way that is helpful for you.
We will also be doing canyoning, visiting local beaches, enjoying some forest bathing & standing under waterfalls.
Drew is a great cook. All food is freshly prepared & as much as possible comes straight from Navina. He grows his own cacao, bananas, pineapples, vanilla, corn & so much more. You definitely won’t go hungry! Coffee & tea are available at all times, as is filtered water.
There will be a wide variety of activities available during your stay. There will be beach & waterfall trips, hot springs, canyoning & – of course – movement. Jo will offer yoga. Drew will be offering manual release and strength training as well as function movement. There will be additional options for massage and other activities.
Accommodation is in spacious, safari-style tents on raised platforms. Comfortable beds, insect netting & the soporific buzz of the jungle ensure a quality night’s sleep. Around each platform hibiscus provides privacy and usually a bonus resident hummingbird. There are separate shower & toilet blocks.
