Calcium shell – what is it, what are the symptoms and how do you get rid of it?

Calcium shell is when calcium leaches out of the bones and teeth and floats around in the body; it builds up in areas forming a kind of shell around cells. It clogs up muscles, joints and arteries. It can form deposits in the brain and heart and other organs and create problems in function.

SYMPTOMS…

There is an almost infinite array of symptoms because the calcium can lay down anywhere… here are some of the most common, prepare yourself:

• Slow oxidation – fatigue, sugar cravings, low blood sugar, weight in hips and thighs, insomnia, low blood pressure.

• Joint & muscle pain, inflammation, cramps, spasms, twitches

• Arthritis, osteoporosis, bone spurs

• Premature greying

• Arteriosclerosis

• Migraines, headaches, poor memory and concentration, brain fog, tinnitus

• Kidney stones, heart palpitations and arrythmia

• Poor dental health

• Fibromyalgia, CFS, Hashimoto’s, hypothyroidism, Lupus, M.E.

• Poor circulation

• Endometriosis, fibroids, ovarian cysts, infertility

• Sensitivity to EMFs – calcium is very conductive

• Apathy, feeling disconnected, emotional numbness, depression, anxiety, irritability, stress, panic attacks

• Low vitamin D

• Copper toxicity

• Poor adrenal functioning

Calcium needs the proper cofactors to direct it & to keep it in the bones. Vitamin K, especially in the MK-7 form, as well as magnesium, sodium and boron are super important. If key minerals are not in balance, the calcium leaches out into the body where it builds up where it is not wanted.

Calcium shell is intricately linked to poor adrenal functioning. The adrenal glands are part of the endocrine system, which produces hormones including adrenaline, oestrogen and cortisol. They are incredibly important.

WHY?

• Emotional trauma and stress – the body uses calcium to protect cells from a stress response.

• Iodine deficiency – Iodine helps our bodies hold onto potassium; it helps to decalcify.

• Calcium supplementation

• Hard drinking water

SOLUTIONS…

• REST – there are 7 types of rest you need to consider: physical, mental, emotional, social, sensory, creative, spiritual… I have done a post on this so see my Instagram… Your adrenals need you to rest. They will be exhausted. That energy I could always find, is cortisol. Your adrenals release cortisol for you when they HAVE to but they are exhausted, so you have a massive energy dip afterwards. The idea is to have a consistence level of energy throughout the day. If you haven’t you probably have adrenal fatigue and need to rest. REST before you are tired…

• Eat well. The less clearing out of shit your body has to do the better. Organic wherever possible…

• Movement – slow, steady rhythmic movement. Yoga is what you are after. Keeps everything going without extreme exertion.

• Lymphatic drainage massage and practices, dry brushing etc. Anything that helps your lymphatics clear things out.

• Infrared saunas – detoxification.

• Go slow and steady and be kind to yourself. Be ready to manage post stress and trauma as you may re-experience these as the shell breaks down.

• Find a Sara Bayley/functional medicine type person to support you and advice you…

• Supplements – Vit K Mk-7 form & magnesium glycinate or threonate, direct the calcium back into the cells. Vit A and Iodine, break the calcium down. Boron and Chanca Piedra, decalcifying.

• Increase salt intake – 1.5 teaspoons a day

• Adrenal support – adrenal cocktail. 30mls orange juice, 30mls coconut water, half tsp sea salt, half tsp cream of tartar. There is a post on how to make this too…

There are other things and also, I highly recommend finding a practitioner that can work with you through this… It is not easy! And also, sadly you are unlikely to find a GP who recognises calcium shell… Good Luck.
