I’ve always seen yoga as a bit worthy and humourless but I really enjoy yoga with Jo. I’ve tried yoga before and Jo is the best I’ve found. Her knowledge of yoga is outstanding and she is always bringing new exercises and positions to the class so it never gets boring. She’s perceptive so she knows where and when to push me and shows me what to focus on. She gives me good feedback and encouragement. She has written out for me exercises to do on my own that are tailored to me and also inspires me to actually do them! Everything she does is supportive, personable and done with good humour. My flexibility, core strength and ability to relax has most definitely improved.
Amazing relaxation session. Felt much calmer afterwards. Jo has a lovely, grounding and calming voice. Looking forward to next week. Thank you 😊
I attended Wild yogis Andalucia retreat it was incredible Jo was extremely helpful and supportive all the way throughout the trip, the yoga was fantastic the progressive way in which she taught a sequence worked brilliantly building strength throughout the week and most importantly we laughed a lot I’m definitely booking on to the next one 🙂
Magic. Magic. Magic. A thousand petals opening with every sentence she says. Soul work. Mind work. Body in peace. Do it.
Breath – The Core, PSOAS & The Diaphragm Workshop
Jo is an excellent teacher! The workshop was interesting and extremely informative. Jo explains everything thoroughly and takes the time to see that we are all in the correct position and answers any questions we may have. Highly recommended!
Absolutely beautiful yoga nidra class 🙏 thank you!
It is great to be in a small group where Jo is able to spend time making sure we are holding the positions correctly and explaining the stances etc. Good fun and makes a difference to my posture and mobility.
Can not praise Jo Stephens enough, her class was my first introduction to yoga and I wish I had started years ago, I absolutely love it. A brilliant teacher in all respects, thank you Jo!
Jo is a fabulous yoga teacher, able to adapt to individual needs and cater for all levels.
Where shall I start? Jo has been and IS a true inspiration. I’m a tricky customer… given that my body is broken(!!) but when I come out of a workshop with Jo I can move, I’m calm and feel ready to take on the day. Not only is her approach relaxed, it’s informative too… I’ve learnt to love myself a little more. It’s always such a treat to be in a yoga class with Jo… the happy vibes continue well past the end of the session. You are a facilitator of happiness! Thank you so much xx
Jo’s classes are relaxed and welcoming to all, each week we build on our understanding of Yoga. Its a lovely way to balance the mind and body each week. Her Master classes add further depth to the ideas and teachings of Yoga, always eye opening and inspirational for leading a better life and being kinder to ourselves🧘♀️🧘♀️🧘♀️.
A combination of finding a cracking yoga teacher (you) and suddenly feeling much more in tune with life has meant that I am doing yoga more than ever before. I’m feeling stronger, calmer and very happy about it. Since your break I’ve been watching your Youtube channel lots. I’ll be very pleased to see you again on Thursday, but missing a couple of weeks has also forced me to take some responsibility for my own commitment to practice. I.e. practicing because I want to not because I have booked and paid and ought to! Just a big thank you for being absolutely brilliant. A wonderful combination of real, effortless, beautiful to watch and inspirational. Thank you. ️
Jo is a fabulous, attentive and supportive yoga teacher. She is aware of any issues with all participants and ensures she tailors exercises/poses to suit and checks with you to see how you are during and after. I had lost touch with yoga but coming to Jo’s class makes me want to practise more often and I have never before stayed with a teacher for this length of time. Classes and courses are fun, relaxed and rewarding. Can’t recommend Jo highly enough. I have booked onto a yoga retreat with Jo because I have always wanted to go on one but never before felt comfortable to – big step for me and all down to the teacher.

We joined Jo’s classes when they started in Jevington over a year ago looking for some guided exercise and movement having reached retirement. We have enjoyed Jo’s careful tutoring which is always finely tuned to ability and any individual limitations – all delivered in a friendly atmosphere in the special surroundings of Jevington Village Hall. We have felt the benefits of regularly attending the sessions.

I’ve started doing a relaxation class on Thursday evenings via zoom. Jo Stephens is an amazing teacher in this and also yoga. If anyone needs any help in this it’s a great class to go to. It definitely works for me and helps me chill down.
Excellent breath workshop, so informative and great fun as always. Thank you Jo, you are epic xx
Jo is a brilliant teacher, very patient and accommodating to all levels. I was amazed how quickly my flexibility improved. she is sympathetic to injuries or stiffness and will tailor her teaching to suit your needs. You can tell she really has a passion for what she does.
Jo is a caring, warm and friendly teacher. She pays attention to the individual needs of her clients and is continually advancing her own knowledge of yoga so she can pass on the very best practice through her classes. I have definitely benefitted from her teaching and would highly recommend her style of yoga.
I have dipped in and out of yoga for some years and found Jo’s class at Pulborough Village Hall. Jo is a wonderful teacher. Her love of yoga, the breath, how the body works and what it can do are infectious. So too is the laughter and easy, caring atmosphere that she creates. No two classes are the same. Each brings new knowledge and new ways of being. It is the highlight of my week. I love it.
I’ve had many yoga teachers over the years but non come close to Jo. She has a unique style of teaching. She is constantly learning new things about how our mind and bodies work and we get this information passed on to us in a way that is exciting and interesting. Our classes are fun too which for me makes all the difference. She is just brilliant.
Jo has been teaching us yoga every week for over a year now. Jo is an absolutely brilliant teacher and very patient and helpful if one member of our small group is struggling with a certain position. I look forward to each session as I always feel really good, relaxed and calm.
Love having a yoga teacher that describes a movement as ‘a bit of a bastard’ and describes human bodies as amazing but humans as twats.😂 Great yoga. Thanks for keeping it real 😎 x
Jo has a unique and special style of teaching. She is warm, calm, funny, friendly and welcoming, all attributes of a great teacher. Jo is “hands-on” to your individual needs, and always ensures you are doing yoga correctly, thus avoiding any injuries. I love her classes, they are fun and feed the mind, body and soul.. Thank you Jo. X
That was the most wonderful yoga…. Thank you so much. Feeling deeply nourished. Deep space. You are the most wonderful yoga teacher. Will be zooming in more! Deep gratitude.

Went to Jo’s workshop on breathing at Fittleworth village hall. I was quite excited about it and very curious. I can report is was brilliant. It made me think and imagine what happens inside as we breath. We were asked to visualise our breathing and for me this worked. I was thinking about how my body works internally. Somehow this made me feel a greater connection to myself and not to sound too weird I felt a love for myself, a kindness, a gentleness. What I also love about Saturday morning workshops is I feel it’s such a treat to be doing something for myself on a day when I’m often busy doing chores. Thank you Jo…
I’ve really enjoyed Jo’s class. I felt supported through her guidance and the movements felt very nourishing for my body. Even though at first sight the practice might seem subtle, I could feel the deep work in my body and noticed a difference in terms of my general anxiety and stress levels from the beginning to the end of the class (also amazing for my laptop-er posture!). I hope to join this in the future when my work times allow me to <3 Thank you so much, Jo! Mara
I have so enjoyed your yoga. You have such a deep knowledge of the body and with your sensitivity and sense of humour it’s been so delightful!!
By far the best yoga teacher I have had! Really personalised the class to help with my bad back! Fun, jolly and would highly recommend xXx
My husband and myself reluctantly joined a class because my son had bought us a course as a Christmas present. I really did not want to go. I have never been agile and that doesn’t improve in your 60s! What a revelation. Jo’s classes create a safe environment for you to achieve the best you can without stress. So very enjoyable and undoubtedly beneficial health-wise. Just wish I had come across her gentle yoga years ago – but it’s never too late!
For our private beginners group of four – with the full mix of stiff old joints and over stressed lives between us and far too many opinions about what we can and can’t do! – we needed to find a very special yoga teacher who would work at our pace, but never fail to challenge and encourage us towards higher goals – as well as having seeing the funny side at appropriate and occasionally inappropriate moments. Jo has been a star in every respect and we are even getting slightly better!
I’ve found your Zoom sessions immensely helpful during these difficult times. For me personally, the whole Covid thing came on top of several hectic years along with, looking back on it, a progressive accumulation of stress, and I found my blood pressure went up to a level that required action. Rather than medication my enlightened GP recommended meditation, so I’ve been using the techniques you’ve taught us most mornings. Result?… for the past couple of weeks I’ve had near perfect readings. So meditation rocks….OMMM!
I originally saw Jo for a private session of Yoga, in which she came to my house. She carefully assessed what my body was capable of doing, as I had recently had an operation. Jo was very professional and went away with all the information. She chose specific exercises for my needs and capabilities, which were well thought out. I can thoroughly recommend Jo.
Another fabulous Master Class this weekend. I love the relaxed atmosphere and gentle way Jo teaches. Also attend her weekly class in Pulborough Village Hall everyone welcome and it has become an essential part of my week, learning how to keep life in balance as well as getting my body stronger and more flexible.
Jo created a special hand massage and relaxation class specifically for my disabilities, remained confidential and professional at all times, and gave me new tips to try myself at home.
Jo combines that special quality of being an excellent teacher and making the classes fun. She challenges us, but within limits, gives individual attention, helping where needed, explains the benefits of the movements. Each class is different with varied moves. Time flies and after a good work out the Shavasana is sublime! She is a great teacher and I love the classes.
The workshop was brilliant so informative and interesting Jo’s classes and workshops have been so engaging it has made me re evaluate my vocation.
I haven’t done any yoga for a few years so I was very happy to find Jo’s class. I love it; Jo makes sure you are doing the positions correctly and you can go at your own pace. It is a very friendly class. My husband really enjoys it too, especially the relaxation at the end, in which he invariably falls to sleep.
Thanks again for yesterday Jo, so glad you thought of me when a space popped up – it was awesome to be back at it and makes such a difference to have some guided practice after months of only doing little bits here and there and not really pushing myself as much as I’d like to. Today I feel amazing and like every muscle in my body got some attention yesterday 💪 hope you’re having a lovely Sunday and I hope I’ll see you again soon!!!! xXx
Jo is a wonderful teacher. Her classes always bring something new to learn and discover and are delivered with care and passion and, importantly, laughter. Now during lockdown her Zoom sessions are a highlight of the week and it’s fantastic to be able to “invite” her into my sitting room and to relax completely. So very glad I found Jo’s classes.
I love Jo’s yoga classes. She’s a wonderful teacher and her classes are not only great for the body, but the mind too. You can go at your own pace, everything is very well explained and if you have any particular issues, Jo will address these individually. Look forward to the class every week, I’m always glad I went. Runs some amazing workshops too!
Jo is a wonderful yoga teacher, with years of experience but always with a thirst for learning more and passing this on to her students. She explains things really well and is just ‘herself’ when she teaches, which is so refreshing. I really look forward to the zoom classes and especially the Tuesday evening meditation. As a yoga teacher myself, I’m picky about whose classes I like and choose – and I LOVE Jo’s! Thank you darling for your generosity and see you in the mat xx
I felt so relaxed I actually fell asleep! And I had a wonderful nights sleep 😀
Jo’s yoga is the first time I have felt truly comfortable and confident in trying something new like this. it’s accessible, friendly and affordable. Jo has a wealth of knowledge and takes the time to adapt her teaching to your individual needs. I cannot recommend her classes enough. I leave feeling physically, mentally and emotionally much healthier. Thank you so so much.
I have wanted to go to yoga for years, but as a mother of three it has not always been easy to find the time. Jo’s zoom classes have been perfect for me. It takes less time out of my day and I have the convenience of being at home. I’ve really enjoyed the classes and felt the mental and physical benefits. Thanks Jo for all your support.
Jo’s yoga and positive – can do attitude is transformative! When I first started her class, I had little self belief that my body could actually stretch or be flexible at all. Jo taught me how to gradually and gently respect my body’s movements and most importantly how to “breathe”. After her classes my body feels at ease and my mind feels calm. It has changed my way of thinking and definitely made me stop and take time for myself. Jo’s such a lovely, kind person, and a true wild yogis 🙂 An inspiration to all. Thanks Jo! Xxxx
Fantastic workshop about tackling the Fight or Flight response mixed in with some awesome yoga and quality snacks! Will definitely be attending again in future.
My amazing yoga teacher Jo. She offers really accessible and fun yoga. Lessons are currently through zoom. It’s great for your headspace as well as the immense physical benefits. Give it a go people I cannot recommend it enough x 🧘
Really enjoyed Jo’s class – she’s a brilliant teacher and really welcoming! At the end of the session I felt like I’d given my body & mind a good stretch inside and out and felt really relaxed after a stressful day! Thanks Jo!
Coming back to Yoga after a few years, Jo’s class has provided the perfect environment. I have learnt so much more depth to the movements and it is a lovely relaxed and fun session.
Jo has been teaching a group of 4 of us (50s to early 70s) for over a year now and we love it. With her well selected and wonderfully delivered sessions we are all on our way to being transformed – well almost! The classes are informative and fun, great for strength, flexibility and breathing – with individual attention to personal weaknesses, aches and pains. Thoroughly recommended!
I have begun many yoga courses. Jo’s is only one I have wanted to continue because she makes it fun, informative, goes at the pace of the participants and I never want to wake from her shavasana. She never makes me feel a useless stiff old poser. Her enthusiasm is infectious. Her approach personalised, her teaching focusses on our ability and capability. Above all I love her classes.
I really enjoyed the class and your instruction, the time went so quickly. I can’t believe I have been doing the downward dog wrong for so long.
I found Jo 4 months ago and what a perfect match for what I was looking for! I have several long-term conditions and post-surgical complications that had left my body very stiff and seized-up. Jo was extremely responsive to my initial enquiry and following a chat about my requirements I was totally reassured that joining a gentle class was right for me. It’s the first time I’ve ever been able to maintain my commitment to any kind of physical practice. Jo is a fantastic teacher, and supports all of us to get the most from the class regardless of our skill level. By far the best thing about Jo is her totally down-to-earth and often humorous manner but still manages to keep us all focussed and demonstrates professionalism in her own inimitable way. There is a very special quality that she brings to her teaching that always leaves me feeling uplifted and I always come away from class feeling buoyant and relaxed.
I’ve had 1:1, group and zoom sessions now with Jo and have found her kind, receptive, enthusiastic, focused and a real inspiration. My body and mind are both difficult to work with, and Jo is responsive and able to adapt and accommodate the moves so I can get something out of each session.
Jo is a great yoga instructor…..her down to earth approach really puts me at ease. Jo is someone who is approachable and inspiring.
The Breath-The Core, Psoas And The Diaphragm
Three hour session on the above. First bit theoretical, how muscles work, especially the role of the TA. Then practice what learnt. Time flew as always in Jo’s classes. Felt had learnt things, practised them, had good workout and it was fun. Highly recommend Jo’s classes.
Hi Jo – very much enjoyed yesterday evening. I know you said you welcome any feedback. Mine is I really appreciate your talking through the repetition of movement especially the breathing & relaxed face etc. I like the pace so far of the class as I am a complete beginner. Thank you.
Thanks for all your encouragement over the last year. I always thought yoga was for ‘other people’ but I have enjoyed this new experience immensely – just wish I had found it 50 years ago!
One of the highlights of my week is doing a yoga class with Jo – she gives me the confidence and encouragement I need to exercise! I always come away feeling calm, positive and have a smile on my face.
Thanks so much for a lovely session my lower back is full of warmth now…. It was tight and painful when we started.
The most beautiful and on point explanation for a yoga practice this is why this lady is the bestest yoga teacher.
Brian and Sandra
Jo is an absolute diamond, great Yoga teacher, has time for everyone cannot praise her enough. Thanks Jo.
Brian and Sandra Watts
Thank you for checking in. It was definitely more challenging strength wise than I normally do but I have been trying to push out of my comfort zone more lately and I felt accomplished afterwards! It has given me a few more ideas about how to challenge myself during my normal practice and I would definitely join in again! Thank you very much for a thoughtful, encouraging and challenging practice.
I’ve been attending Jo’s Jevington class for several months now and thoroughly enjoy the sessions – they’re an oasis in the week! She is so thorough and informative, friendly and helpful and always has time to answer any questions. I feel I am learning a lot more about my own body.
Some amazing classes available over zoom including relaxation which we all need ❤️🌈
Fantastic class…..exactly as it is says…..mindful movement. A gentle yet focused yoga class. Jo really draws attention to how awareness of hands, fingers, feet all create mindful changes to a pose. This really helps to improve practice and quieten the mind. It’s hard to find good teachers that can bring this subtle but powerful dynamic to a class. Great for beginners and experienced practitioners alike. Loved it! Thank you Jo.
Jo is an amazing yoga teacher. Her classes are really fun, friendly and completely tailored to individual needs and ability. I thoroughly look forward to my weekly class and would go every day if I could! I can’t recommend highly enough.
Jo is quite simply the best yoga teacher you could have! She really cares about each individual and makes sure that you are doing what is right for you.
Jo is a fantastic teacher. I have been going to her classes for over 2 years now (Fittleworth Village Hall Thursday evenings) and I enjoy every minute. They’re fun and very good for your health. Jo explains everything very well and takes the time to make sure you are practising properly. Adapts moves and poses to suit everyone’s needs and limitations! Would strongly recommend you give it a go. You won’t regret it. Her workshops are equally amazing!
I have done many classes with Josephine and it’s the best and only classes I will do. Very knowledgeable, funny and expertly produced. Thank you.
Your relaxation sessions are just wonderful – so kind and caring. Each time I learn something from you. Each time I let go. Thank you 🙏
Fantastic instructor sympathetic classes stress free.
Jo is a sympathetic and caring instructor able to tailor her class to individuals ability. My husband and I took up yoga on retirement and her classes are fun and over the two years we have been attending have improved our flexibility and posture.
At the age of 81 years I was persuaded to try Yoga. I felt I walked the dogs each day and was moving round pretty well, if a little stiff, after two hips replacements. Relaxing has never been my forte, so I wondered if Yoga was a little worthy and whether stretching and meditation was for me. But persuaded by my children I gave it a go and it has been quite amazing. It has given me better core strength which has immediately helped my balance. Improved my neck movement (v. important when pulling out of my drive!). And generally changed my posture and breathing. And all this is due to our yoga teacher Jo – I had expected yoga to be intense, serious and a bit boring, but Joe has made it such fun and though we do work hard she does it with much encouragement and plenty of humour. Her exceptional relaxation therapy at the end is also amazing. It has certainly made me feel much younger, so whatever age you are I can strongly recommend you give it a go.
Just wanted to say thank you. It’s the second time in ages I’ve woken up without backache. The first time was after the first session with you in Pulborough.
Jo is a great teacher and very down to earth. She’s a really good motivator and will have you laughing as well as practicing. Get down to Jevington and experience!
Jo is a great yoga instructor…..her down to earth approach really puts me at ease. Jo is someone who is approachable and inspiring.
Jo is a fantastic yoga instructor. Having never tried yoga I was very nervous when I attended my first session but she was really supportive and encouraging. I have now attended several classes and Jo always makes sure that they are different and lots of fun.
Jo is a lovely and caring teacher who is continually exploring yoga herself so she can pass on the very best practice to us through her classes. I’m feeling the benefits. Highly recommended!
I love your classes for the care, attention and interest you bring every time. I’ve learnt so much by moving slowly and listening to my body. My posture has changed dramatically, now instead of slumping I stand tall and feel my body stack instead of fold.
Jo’s retreat in Spain was really special. She organised it with so much love and thought. The teaching was really inspiring and I am already using what I learned in my own classes. That said it is completely appropriate for people who are not yoga teachers and/or relatively new to yoga. Thank you dear Jo, so much.
I have been going to Jo’s yoga sessions in the local hall for a while now. She is a very sympathetic, careful teacher always taking care to tailor the yoga moves to her students ability. Sadly, these sessions ceased on lockdown but she is now running online classes and bringing her own caring sessions to all. I attend both a relaxation class and the intermediate yoga which I enjoy very much and help me to keep flexible in retirement. I highly recommend her style of teaching.
I joined Jo for one of her workshops on breathing and the core. What a wonderful way to spend three hours! Jo is a truly inspirational teacher who has a natural ability to assess people’s needs and support them in a way that helps them achieve their own goals. The workshop was fun, engaging and restorative and I left feeling grounded, stretched and in tune with my body. I will certainly be going back for more workshops and my only wish is I lived nearer so I could join her weekly classes. Thanks again Jo x
